Trashigang
Trashigang, the center of the eastern region and the largest town after Thimphu lies 580 km (360 miles) east o f Thimphu. Trashigang has a true character of its own and makes it one of the most pleasant towns in Bhutan.
Situated at an altitude of 1,150 m (3, 775 feet), Trashigang has mild climate and nestles on the spur of a mountain. The town has authentic small town like feel: we can see people, chatting on their doorsteps or in the middle of the road, people from neighboring valleys strolling buying supplies or strolling leisurely in the township and restaurants and inns full of life quite at night.
Trasicho Dzong is the landmark o f Trashigang that can be spotted from far away. The commercial district of the Dzong concentrates around the Dzong. Accommodation and facilities are still underway. You may miss the modern comforts here in this town, but the richness of the area, the simplest lifestyle and natural ambience are much more worthy.
