Gom Kora
Gom Kora , also known as Gomphu Kora, 24 km (15 miles) from Trashigang, is among the revered places of Bhutan where Guru Rinpoche meditated in order to subdue a demon. The temple structure was built in the mid 17th century that enshrines the statue of Guru Rinpoche and Chenresig, also known as Avablokiteshwara.
The temple also contains numerous sacred objects that either miraculously appeared here or were brought by Guru Rinpoche himself. The temple has an old Thongdrol, a giant Buddha painting and also a new Thongdrol which is displayed at the Gomkora tsechu festival that falls usually in spring. Behind the temple, there is a large black rock with thumb imprints of Guru Rinpoche.
