Buddhas, Pagodas and Archeological Wonders of Myanmar
Overview
An introductory trip of Myanmar, offering pagodas, temples, rivers, archeological wonders and vibrant markets of three most visited cities of Myanmar-Yangon, Bagan and Mandalay. We fly from Bangkok to Yangon-the capital city of Myanmar and explore its archeological and architectural wonders. From Yangon, we take flight to Bagan-an enchanting town with thousands of huge temples and stupas scattered along the bank of Irrawady River. We explore the massive ruins and some outlaying villages.
Another short flight brings us to Mandalay-where we visit the ancient city of Amarapura where we visit the ancient monasteries and temples and we will also have opportunity to hike a hill and enjoy the sunset view.From Manadalay, we take return flight to Yangon and with a night stop there, we will fly back to Bangkok.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01~Flight to Yangon and visit Sule Pagoda, Karaweik Hall on the Royal Lake and the famous Shwedagon Pagoda.
Day 02~Flight from Yangon to Bagan and explore the archeological wonders, browse through the vibrant market of Nyaung U and enjoy sunset view.
Day 3~Flight from Bagan to Mandalay and visit the famous Mahaganda Monastery at Amarapura and other Pagodas of Mandalay.
Day 4~Flight to Heho and transfer by car and boat to Inle Lake. Boating trip and village visits in Inle Lake islands and lakeshores.
Day 5~Flight to Yangon and explore the remaining sights of Yangon.

Itinerary
Day 01: Flight from Bangkok to Yangon.
You can book your flight to Yangon on your own or ask us for help. Bangkok is the best international gateway city for flight to Myanmar. Upon arrival at Mingaladon airport of Yangon (Previously known as Rangoon), we are met by our local guide and we are transferred to our hotel. After some rest in the hotel, we embark on the tour of this capital city of Myanmar which is 2500 years old.
This colorful city features a fascinating mix of the scenes from a bygone era and the modern pulse of bustling streets interspersed d by serene temples and impressive colonial edifices. We begin from the gilded Sule Pagoda and the impressive Karaweik Hall on the Royal Lake. We follow these with a visit to the famous Shwedagon Pagoda, which dominates the skyline of city. This masterpiece houses an intricate complex of smaller pagodas and Buddha images. Overnight Yangon Hote or Seasons of Yangon Hotel.
Day 02: Flight from Yangon to Bagan.
After breakfast, we are transferred to the airport for flight to Bagan. Upon arrival at Bagan airport, we are met by our local guide and then we are transferred to our hotel. Soon we set out to explore the archeological wonders of Bagan town that flourished from the 11th through 13th century and thousands of magnificent stupas and temples were constructed during 200 years; many of which are still standing with all glory along the banks of Irrawady River.
We visit the vibrant market of Nyaung U before and drive to the archaeological zone. We visit the temples and pagodas of Shwezigon, Gubyaukgyi, Htilominlo, Ananda, Thatbyinnyu Sulamani, Dhammyangyi which speak of their glorious past. In the evening, we enjoy the spectacular sunset from the terrace of Myaukguni Temple and conclude the tour of the day. Day 3: Flight from Bagan to Mandalay and visit Amarapura.
Today we take a short flight to Mandalay –the former capital city of Myanmar. On arrival we are driven to visit Amarapura-one of the ancient cities of the area. The spectacular teak bridge of U Bein and the famous Mahaganda Monastery are some of the major attraction in Amarapura. We pass by the serene countryside on our way to Mandalay Township. This delightful town has plenty to offer to the visitors; Mahamuni Pagoda, the fabulous Kuthodaw Pagoda often called “the world's largest book " and the wooden monastery of Shwenandaw Kyaung, just to name a few. Later in the day, we hike Mandalay Hill for a beautiful sunset view and the panoramic views of the areas. Overnight in Emerald Land Inn or Mandalay City Hotel. (B)
Day 4: Flight to Heho and transfer to Inle Lake.
Today, we take short flight to Heho. We meet our local guide and we are transferred to Inle Lake. Inle Lake, situated Shan State, is beautiful, with very calm waters dotted with patches of floating vegetation and fishing canoes. The lake is surrounded by high hills from all sides and there are17 villages in the lakeshores and in the islands. The villages are mostly inhabited by Intha ethnic people. We take the boating trip and enjoy the spectacular scenery and observe the skilled fisherman using their leg-rowing technique to propel themselves around the lake. We visit the floating gardens, a floating market and an Intha village around the lake. Please, note that markets do not take place on full moon days. W will also visit the Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda and the Nga Phe Kyaung Monastery. Overnight in Hupin Hotel Inle Khaung Daing Cottage or Paradise Inle Resort

Day 5: Flight back to Yangon
After breakfast, we are transferred by boat followed by car to the airport for flight to Yangon. Time permitting; we can still visit some sights of Yangon. The colossal reclining Buddha of Chaukhtatgyi in a quiet, open-air pavilion and the National Museum with a lovely collection of artifacts reflecting the richness of Burmese culture are recommended for visit. We can also take leisurely stroll on our own in Bogyoke Market, formerly known as Scott’s Market . When its airport time, our guide will transfer us back to the airport for our flight to next destination. Overnight Yangon Hote or Seasons of Yangon Hotel.
Day 06: Yangon-departure.
Transfer to the airport for flight back home or next destination.
