The Tourism Council of Bhutan and Haa District Administration have jointly worked for village tourism and have picked up 17 farmhouses. Renovations of the private farmhouses are underway. While the guests will get opportunity to experience the home stay, the villagers who are deprived of any direct benefits from tourism, will gain economic and social opportunities.
The host families are trained in basic housekeeping, cleanliness and hygiene. The travelers will get opportunity to befriend the locals, learn their lifestyles and participate in daily activities of the locals.
